Releasing resentment is very difficult as it is so multifaceted involving so many emotions and as usual only you can help yourself.
What is the root cause of resentment. There is no one reason for the cause of resentment, but it is mostly originates because of a feeling of being mistreated or wronged by a person or action.
The opinion of being wronged, we must remember, is that the mistreatment or wrong is in your eyes and the feeling of resentment is caused by how you perceive the situation.
Perceive –
- “become aware or conscious of. Come to realise or understand
- “INTERPRET OR REGARD SOMEONE OR SOMETHING IN A PARTICULAR WAY.
SO SOMEONE SAYS SOMETHING OR DOES SOMETHING
we are not happy about,
WE REACT
NEGATIVELY and Resentfully
One must remember that the person has every right to do what they want to do to a certain extent, its’ their life.
Mayo Clinic -Acknowledge your emotions about the harm done to you. Recognize how those emotions affect your behaviour. Choose to forgive the person who has offended you. Release the control and power that the offending person have had on your life.

An example in brief.
Newly wedded couple – He has a time consuming hobby with exercise/riding his bike. She has no hobbies and a bit of a home lover. Can you see where I’m going with this?
She starts feeling left out. He can’t understand as he has always exercised. Resentment on both sides. Bickering began. She was unhappy and so took stock of the situation. All the time she had known him he has exercised. Why should he stop? It was not his fault that she didn’t have anything to fill her time. She realised that when he was out exercising she became resentful because she was envious of his hobby. Yes she was jealous. How can you jealous of a bike?. She now understood what as making her feel like she did and resolved to sort the situation.
Let Resentment Go.
