The Inner Child is seen as as echo of who we once were……

The Inner Child – is the suggestion that inside us is an inner child holding us back?

  • 1. A load of balony?
  • 2. Could explain a lot.
  • 3. Can cause resentment of the fact that the inner child makes me feel sad and holds me back.
  • 4. Guilt – because if there is an inner child I haven’t looked after her.

Whenever I start feeling me it seems a hand is there pulling me back ad a voice saying no! Is that the inner child doing that or just my childhood experiences?

In popular Psychology and analytical psychology, the inner child is an individuals childlike aspect. It includes what a person learned as a child before puberty. The inner child is often conceived as a semi-independent subpersonality subordinate to the waking conscious mind. The term has therapeutic applications in counseling and health settings. The concept became known to a broader audience through books by John Bradshaw and others like Carl Gustave Jung and also Arthur Jann who wrote the books The Primal Scream and The Feeling Child. This among other things proclaims the way in which parents emotionally cripple children.

Through my researching I have decided parents can get a raw deal. Please note not all! One has to remember our parents had parents to and they didn’t know what they were doing either.

How do I know my inner child? Do we have this psychological child inside us holding onto to the pain and sadness of our childhood?
