January is just finishing with February following fast. They are two of the most longest, miserable months of the year. I checked out this blog from a year ago and felt it was very applicable to where we are at at the moment. It tells us how smiling cheers us up. So have a read to see if we can beat the winter blues.

As usual if you choose to work with my experiences you must take full responsibility for your own health.
Reasons for smiling – Some information adapted from very well mind.com
Yay smiling helps you life longer – overall happy people enjoy better health and longevity. Huh, I hear you say “alright for them, It’s very hard to be happy in my world”. Smiling can help with this. Science suggests that by having a happy positive mood could be an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Also it is thought that when you smile it improves the function of the immune system because you are more relaxed thanks to certain endorphins. Endorphins are a group of peptides that are produced by your pituitary gland and central nervous system and that act on the opiate receptors in your brain. These neurotransmitters (also sometimes thought of as hormones) act to increase feelings of pleasure and well-being and also to reduce pain and discomfort.

Smiling Cheers You Up
When you are feeling down try putting on a smile. The physical effort of smiling kicks off pathways in your brain and releases happy hormones like Dopamine and Serotonin that boosts your mood.

SMILING IS A NATURAL ANTIDEPRESSANT.
Smiling relieves stress
As we know stress is a pain in the butt, living with it is very hard It shows up in our faces and the stance of our body. When you don’t feel like smiling do try to take time out to curl the corners of your mouth upwards. It does make you feel uplifted. Even a fake smile, due to the action of the curl upwards works. Get your endorphins working to feel good.

Smiling reduces pain. I know, whose going to be smiling when the heads thumping, joints are aching and worse. Scientific studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural painkillers, and serotonin for happiness. The mixture of these endorphins make us feel good from head to toe, elevating the mood, relaxing the body thereby reducing pain.

Smiling makes you more attractive. A grim face puts people off but a smiley face attracts. Bonus, smiling makes you look younger. Smiling lights up your face. Smile and the whole world smiles with you. Smiling is contagious.
Smiling and Negativity – Have a go at smiling and the try thinking negatively. You can’t. Smiling influences your feeling of positivity even if the smile is forced.
